Yaron Golgher, CEO of I Know First and lecturer at Reichman University, discussed the impact of CHAT GPT and AI on education and investments on Channel 14’s economics program. He explained that AI won’t replace jobs, but change the way people use it. The academy should focus on teaching users how to use AI tools like CHAT GPT intelligently and see them as advanced starting points for research. AI can make data easily accessible, help build updated curricula, and revolutionize research. However, users still need to know how to ask the right questions to get the most accurate and relevant answers. The academy should not attempt to block the use of advanced tools like CHAT GPT. In 1956, the world was shocked when a machine beat a person in a game of chess, but the industry is still thriving today. Similarly, 40 years ago people did not use calculators in mathematics or Excel for data analysis, but now they are considered basic tools. Instead, the academy should focus on teaching users how to ask the right questions, use the tool intelligently, and see machine learning technology as advanced starting points for research. The quality of the chat response is directly related to the quality of the request. General requests will result in general answers, while specific questions will be answered with the best available knowledge. AI can also understand the context of previous questions to improve its answers to follow-up questions. To get the most accurate and relevant answers, it is important to clearly define your question and provide any relevant information.

With technology, researchers can ask the exact questions that would otherwise require extensive research, making data easily accessible to a wider audience. Moreover, the chat can also help teaching staff to build more exciting and updated curricula. The future possibilities are fascinating! Connecting Chat GPT to additional databases, not only internet databases or text, Chat GPT will be able to connect to medical information and produce medical recommendations and possibly additional revelations. Google is already working on improving the search engine using the technology on which Meda and the Chat GPT are based. This technology, called a “great language model”, is able to hold more than one conversation. Artificial intelligence technology is expected to change academia as it changes almost every field. We use Wiz to get everywhere and Siri and Alexa are in every mobile phone, it is expected that the same will happen in the education field.
